Based on our corporate philosophy of “Better products for people around the world,” Magic Ink was created as Japan’s first oil-based marking pen in 1953.
Since its launch, this long-selling item has been designed with a refillable ink and replaceable nib, and its shape and function that enables repeated use remains unchanged even today.
Our ecological philosophy that parallels the environmental focus of today’s world has been passed down since the beginning, along with our core philosophy.
We aim to create products that add color to people’s lives and enable us to co-create with everyone, and we will continue to provide writing instruments and drawing materials that fit the future of writing culture.

Ecological Initiatives
The basic tenet for environmental issues is
to avoid producing garbage (waste).
Teranishi Chemical is committed to tackling environmental issues seriously.
For example, Magic Ink Large uses plastic
in only 20% of its body parts and incorporates recycled glass in approximately 73% of its total weight.
With its refillable ink and replaceable nib design, it is also an economical product that can be reused again and again by purchasing ink refills and replacement nibs.
Magic Ink Large has been an eco-friendly product designed with consideration for the global environment for nearly 70 years.
SDGs Initiatives
Teranishi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. is committed to creating products that contribute widely to society, while addressing environmental issues.
We believe we can contribute greatly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were unanimously adopted by the 193 member states of the United Nations in 2015,
and we aim to advance the sustainable development of society through our ongoing efforts.
We are also focusing on the development of specialty pens,such as glass pens, fountain pen ink, industrial markers, and“Kizukakusu” (emergency scratch cover pen for shoes).
